Plain Tiles
Plain French style floor tile pamments are typically 15x15 cms x 1-1.5 cms. Price starts at £1.95 per tile.
Max size 20x20 cms x 1.5cms thick. Price starts at £2.60 per tile.
Undecorated terracotta field tiles are available mainly in various tones of terracotta as well as marbelled. They are available up to 20x20 cms (approx 8" sq) A rebate or cutback can be put into the tile for setting in lime mortar as were most original Medieval tiles placed. They can also be effective with border design or cut to individual shapes. Advice on aftercare of tiles can also be given if required. PIA
Sgraffito Tiles
Can appear almost identical to the encaustic tiles with the same designs achieved but the process is slightly different. Instead of a stamp or a mould being produced the surface area of the tile is coated with a coloured slip and a design is stenciled or drawn onto the surface.
The unwanted area is scraped away to reveal the desired pattern against the colour of the clay body or another coloured layer underneath.

Spanish Style Tiles
Elegant border patterned floor tiles start at £12.50 each for the more simple design. Other patterns are priced according to complexity like these tiles white tin glaze on terracotta.
We enjoy making ornamental design for borders whose inspiration comes from an eclectic mix of Hispano- Moresque pottery and Roman mosaics which include - leaf & scroll, vine leaf & bryony patterns as well as of animals on Roman mosaics and glazed in mock-Fatimid lustre wear.
